Let me just start of by saying that
I AM SO GLAD TO HAVE SURVIVED THE FIRST WEEK OF COLLEGE(CIMP)!I'm gonna backtrack a little by explaining my second day of CIMP.
Day two(Jan 6) : I got there at 8.30am sharp & immediately rushed to Auditorium 7 where a flood of other CIMP students greeted me.I hastened to find an empty seat in the sea of people there.I sat next to an Iranian girl who bore a very striking resemblance to
Samantha Ronson,I'm serious. Her dressing, short cropped hair & just everything about her made me realize that. Mr Kenny Chong, the CIMP Programme Administrator started introducing all the
70% Canadian and 30% local CIMP teachers.
After another round of introductory & 'Welcome to CIMP' speeches,I went back to Room SE-3-17 for a game of
treasure hunt with my classmates. Our class was divided into three groups, four or five people to a group, just like all the other CIMP classes. This was a different version of treasure hunting as we had to only snap pictures of things we were supposed to go all around SunU's campus to search for.
My team of five comprised of
Farbod(
Iranian leng chai and the second most helpful person in the group),
Farzam(big-time Iranian flirt, lazybones & THE ringleader of our team's mastermind plan to cheat!),
Faiz(jovial
Sri Lankan guy who was my most helpful team mate) &
Enrico(Indonesian Chinese dude who was supposedly one heck of my team's leader by
going MIA throughout the hunt!!!!) & I(they made me do almost all the work since I was the only Malaysian-luckily they said that I'm a good
tour guide,lol).
I dragged them all over campus, listened to Farzam's constant complaints of `Let's just call the teacher to say we're done,'. He kept insisting that we take even random-er pictures of anything in sight, promising me every time I relented to let him have his fun that the teacher is so blur that he won't notice the difference. The way he said it was so.....ahhh u have to be there to understand what I mean :P
Thanks,Farzam for making me laugh till my sides ached throughout the entire hunt :)
Now he just smiles at me whenever we bump into each other in the hallways while going from class to class.Lol.
Because of his cheating skills & also thankfully for my teacher who was seriously blur with & without his glasses,we actually won
second place for our class. -.- not something I'm proud of ahhh.
After lunch we headed to the football field for games organised by the senior CIMP students. Most of the games were cool....swt most of the guys were more than happy to take their tops off as the 2pm sun was scorching hot!!! We played the
arms-only version of
Twister standing up. We won :)
Day three(Jan 7) : Classes started that day but we only really started learning(and got our first HW assignments!!!) today. The 3 subjects that I was assigned to according to my placement test are :
1.
Mathematics For Data Management(MDM4U)
2.
English(ENG4C)
3.
Individuals and Families In Diverse Societies(HHS4M-its
psychology, sociology & anthropology in one subject).
My teachers were
Ms Laura Najjar-MDM4U,
Mr.Marc-Andre Plouffe(HHS4M) and
Mr Peter Brikmanis-ENG4C. But as of today,I got promoted to a higher English level class....
ENG4U :) Sadly,my whole schedule including teachers & class timings changed :( Only
Mr Plouffe remains as my only orang putih teacher now...why laaaaa :(
The good thing is Mon-Thurs,college only lasts 5 hours, from 830-130 while on Fridays, its only 4 hours, from 830-1230. Yay!!! I have a self-introductory oral presentation essay to write which is due Monday & one blooody long math question to complete, also by Monday..ishhh!!!
Bring on week 2!!!
