DRAG ME TO HELL

Plot: Christine Brown has a good job, a great boyfriend, and a bright future. But in three days, she's going to hell. A loan officer ordered to evict an old woman, Mrs. Ganush (she's damn freaky) from her home finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse, which turns her life into a living hell. Desperate, she turns to a seer to try and save her soul, while evil forces work to push her to a breaking point.

Joveen & I went to watch it today and boy were we in for a gorefest! The plan was to actually watch 17 Again, and I had already booked our tickets, but when we got there, we were like ahhh wth, we wanna see something scary instead, a horror movie! So we scanned the movie screen and came across Drag Me To Hell at 5pm,we were like, that's the one! :D I remembered reading in the paper that this movie got a 4/5 star rating by our local movie critiques, so I was even more gien/excited to watch it.
It was a 110 minute movie, and like I said earlier, it was a pure gorefest....there was hardly a scene where the both of us could breathe normally. The first 10 minutes already showed us a sliver of the horrors that were yet to come....

But its definitely a must-watch movie!!!!! Go with someone braver or bring something to cover ur eyes (& ears!!) with if u were scared like us. LOL.
Please don't be like the two people next to us who actually shouted for so long and loud as if they were on a roller-coaster during the gory scenes, but during the normal scenes were jabbering away...if u really have to talk, keep it down for goodness sake!!!! & those two Hollywood starlets actually removed their shoes,and propped up their worse-than-BO-smell-toes/legs on the cushions!!!!! I was already like wth when they screamed, and when they did that, I was like....goodnight!

Anywayy, I shall refrain from spoiling the movie too much for y'all, but it would be a waste to miss it. This is definitely one of THE best horror movies I've seen in my 18 years of life, but My Bloody Valentine takes the cake hands down for the goriest film I've seen so far :D Kudos to Sam Raimi, the director!

But I must say, Sunway Pyramid's ticket counter at the cinema has indeed gone to the dogs lahhh!. In the past, they were strict in ensuring 18++ shows were only watched by suitable people and vice versa, but lately, as I've been going to the cinema a number of times, I'd noticed that they don't seem to care who they issue tickets to anymore, so as long as they get their greens. What IS this?!? I was shocked when my Dad told me wee toddlers were allowed in to the recent screening of Ip Man, a Cantonese movie that is a tribute to a young Bruce Lee. The show was so violent according to Dad -.- & okay lah, I admit, one of the reasons I'm partly mad at them ticket counter people is the fact that I was soooo looking forward to proudly displaying my identification card (IC) for all the world to see should they not believe that I'm 18 this year. Well, technically, only in September, but what's a few more months right? :) I wanted to wipe the smirk off their silly faces had they not allowed me in to a 18 above movie, for the simple reason that I look younger just cause I'm short. But nooo, now they're so lenient...they let just about anybody in to any show. My damn tall 13 year old brother could have passed off as an 18 year old for goodness sake. Don't get me started on Kenneth, my 16-year-old-at-just-5 ft 8-brother.

The sound effects for other movies in Sunway's cinema have not been that good most of the time. But lo and behold, today of all days, when Jo & I were watching one of the goriest & most suspenseful movies of all time, it had to be so damn freaking good!!!! The music was sooo loud -.- There was one scary part with the crazily LOUD, suspenseful & jeng jeng jeng sound effects that made me believe I was watching a 3D movie as I felt the music was all around me. Nehh, the exorcism part, Joveen, it was so loud lahhh!!!!! I thought I'd gone deaf, hehe.

Overall, one good horror movie that i've seen in a long time, although gory. Not one for the faint-hearted unless u've got something to cover ur eyes & ears(its damn loud I'm telling you) with. Glad that I saw it and in the cinema too instead of at home, I would've turn the volume down, tak syok already!!! Not my fault if you watch at night and can't sleep/have nightmares.

Rating: 8/10

The movie Coraline is okay lah.
PS: I never want to be/meet/deal with a bank loan officer & really old men & women officially scare me -.-

till next time,denise ;
